Streamlining #EdTech Fundraising with PledgeCents

This quote is a part of a recent posting from PledgeCents, and really stood out to me. I often write about the value of collaboration, with the mantra: All of us are smarter than one of us. And this quote from Keller really hits home with me and speaks towards the new PledgeCents Preferred Partners program that I’m going to plug today.

I’d be happy to promote PledgeCents anytime but it helps that this new program is really cool and directly involves helping teachers and students access licenses to powerful edtech tools. In my experience, PledgeCents supports educators. They are generous sponsors of both the 2015 and 2016 #EdcampMville and my district #EdcampOHS. It’s hard to find sponsors to financially support these events but PledgeCents generously jumped at the chance, and for that I’m thankful. The Preferred Partners Program

We all want new edtech, right? This program is geared specifically at making it easier for teachers to create campaigns to fund these purchases for our students and classrooms. And the list of the partners is great. Pear Deck and Nearpod are two great ones that stand out for me.

Basically, the Preferred Partners Program makes it easier to get those campaigns started by populating your cause with all of the information about the product you select. Start a Code Monkey campaign, select your intended plan/license, and it does the rest. And when your campaign succeeds, PledgeCents makes the purchase for you, eliminating the bureaucracy that so often comes with this kind of fundraising. It’s also worth noting that the next 100 causes on the site will receive a Facebook Matching Campaign, investing $1 for every 1 Facebook share a cause receives.
